We always heard and seen an Asus laptop in every shop we go. It is because they are one of the widely known and most awarded laptop manufacturer in the whole wide world. They had served us with different levels of laptops from mini to full size. On whatever they have done for the past years, they are always gives us a great satisfaction when using their products. For me, there are three words that could describe Asus laptops, the "portability", "usability" and "performance".
Right now, I'm talking about the new Asus UL20A - the gadget I want to write about. I've research a lot and there are a lot of good reviews about this product. After reading the reviews and stuff, I decided to write about this one so that others that are looking for a cheap a laptop that will not compromise their money is just within the reach of their hands.
Asus UL20A
Asus UL20A is a netbook that is 12.1 inch. Having the high resolution display, it could give you better graphics than other laptops that you've seen. As far as Asus laptops that had been produced, Asus UL20A is one of the cheapest laptop that been created. It will cost you only $500, I bet it is one of the best prices that a laptop could offer. Eventhough that the price is cheap still this laptop that made by Asus is having the Asus standards. Means it is a high quality with a perfect price to fit on your budget.
Design
UL20A is wrap with a plastic pack with the silver color but it is sturdy built as rock. The lid is coppice with aluminum and it has a glossy screen that you can reflect yourself unto. This laptop is not best to use outdoors but it doesn't mean that you can't have it outdoors. You can still have it, if you don't mind the reflection of the light when typing on your screen.

This design has the dual core 1.3GHz Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 CPU for a processor, 2GB of RAM, 250GB of hard drive and Intel GMA 4500MHD for its graphics. As customize of laptops, the ports and jacks are on the side end of it. Such as USB port, Ethernet jack, Memory card and VGA port. Also there were microphone and phone jack for you to use in video call or conferencing.
Even UL20A is smaller than the UL30A you don't have to worry that you can't have the comfort in typing. The keyboard is a chiclet-style that when you tap it - it will squeak. Squeaking can't make your typing performance become slower but if you have the ability of typing then it will not be a hindrance for you. The touch pad of this Asus UL20A is supported with multi-touch gestures such as review, zoom, scrolling up and down and etc just like any laptops.
Performance
Speaking of the performance it is usual good. It can handle a 720p and 1080p HD video playback with a good moderation. Well, it is rather good that there were a microphone and headphone jack. It seems that you might need something just like speakers to make it louder. And also the camera of UL20A is not that great but it can take a quick snap. I will suggest that you will just buy a camera that will connect through your USB port because the cam embedded on this laptop is not that advisable if you are having a conversation.
Unlike the UL30A, this one will not last for 10 hours surfing. It can only last for 4 hours I guess but I think this won't be a problem. Well the good thing is that when you get and flip the battery, it could offer you more 2 hours. Thanks to the Battery Saving mode, in case of emergency you could do this and save your files. Eventhough with this kind of battery life, it can still perform rather quite splendid. The 8 hours battery promotion seems like a promotional at all.
